Boxstarter: Enabling Automatic Updates from Windows Update
I'm assuming this has nothing to do with the script but some other issue. It doesn't matter what I put in the actual script file; it can be blank and still output the exact same error stream.

Any suggestions?

Any ideas here? I'm seeing this same pattern on every single Windows 8.1 machine I try this one. Is launching Boxstarter from the web on Windows 8.1 just not possible due to the changes in how security is implemented?

Note that I've tried removing UAC as well. No joy.

Update 2:

I launched a PowerShell instance as Administrator, switcher to boxstartershell, and ran the following command:

Install-BoxstarterPackage -PackageName https://www.dropbox.com/s/sktw0g264tfya6v/boxstarter.txt?dl=0

Same problem. I'm finding zero examples of this problem in the docs or the discussions board. Any guidance on this would be appreciated.

The issue is most likely that the response from https://www.dropbox.com/s/sktw0g264tfya6v/boxstarter.txt?dl=0 is not plain text and contains hml markup. When using a http baser URL as your package source, the http resource must be plain text.

Ah, good point. I thought that I had tried this with a Gist, but maybe not. Thanks for the reply, Matt. I'll tinker with this some more.
